OVERVIEW

Uganda has a total area of 236,040 sq. km, bordered by Kenya in the East and Tanzania in the South, Rwanda in the South west, DR Congo to the west and South Sudan to the North, making it a landlocked country. It lies at 10S to 40N Latitude and 300 to 350 East Longitude, so it is astride the Equator.1 00 N, 32 00 E. The country, however, is well watered and fertile. Although it lies at the Equator, it receives about three rainy seasons a year, with Lake Victoria, The Nile, the many forests and the Rwenzori mountains determining much of the climate. In forest ecosystems it rains regularly and weather is unpredictable. Water covers36, 330sq. km, about 15% of Uganda’s area. The country is rich in wildlife, game, birds, and a vast culture of over 50 tribes occupying this beautiful, green country. In Uganda alone a birder will enjoy twelve percent of bird species in the world; a tracker will find half of the world’s gorillas; an explorer will have an opportunity to see more than 7% of the world’s mammals. For the discerning traveler the potential for Ecotourism here is enormous, and the discreet have tapped into it.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Wednesday 28th May 2025 - Welcome to Entebbe, Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe international airport in Entebbe and completion of immigration and customs formalities a representative of our agency will meet, greet and transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe.
In case of an early flight into Entebbe, Optional Mabamba Swamp tour in search for the famous Shoebill stork (Bird), also the wetland is Uganda's most important birding site, and it is home to over 300 bird species. OR just visit Entebbe Botanical Gardens for an evening Nature walk (Famous for harboring various bird and tree species and located on the shores of Lake Victoria. The Entebbe botanical gardens are a bird’s paradise where tourists can go for bird watching some of the birds you can find at the gardens include; Orange Weavers, Violets black Weavers, red chested sunbirds, marabou stork, Verreaux owl, eagles, black headed heron, hummerkops, African open billed stork, long tailed Cormorant, pied Kingfishers, giant king fishers, yellow billed duck, swamp fly catcher, black headed gull, common squacco, black headed Gonolek and pratincoleto to mention a few.

Day 2: Entebbe City tour – UWEC Zoo – Beach – Sunset Boat Cruise

After breakfast, discover the charm of Entebbe City on a guided tour, encounter Uganda’s incredible wildlife at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, unwind by the lakeside before setting sail on a magical sunset boat cruise along Lake Victoria, and for the adventurous, enjoy an (optional) visit to the Reptile Village for a unique encounter with Uganda’s fascinating reptiles.

Day3: Kampala city tour – Buganda Royal Mile

After Breakfast, you'll embark on a comprehensive Kampala City Tour, which takes you to the heart of Uganda's capital city. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Independence Monument, World War memorial monument the Uganda parliament, Namirembe Cathedral and Gadhafi Mosque. You'll also explore the vibrant markets, including the Owino Market and the Nakasero Market, where you can sample local cuisine and shop for souvenirs.
Later in the day, step into the heart of Uganda’s rich heritage with a walk along the Buganda Royal Mile, where every avenue and landmark tells the story of kingship, tradition, and culture, offering you a rare opportunity to connect with the legacy of the Buganda Kingdom.

Day 4: Ewaffe Cultural Village

After breakfast, embark on a journey to Kayunga in Mukono, where you will discover the soul of Uganda at the Ewaffe Cultural Village, a unique destination where tradition comes alive. Here, you will be welcomed with vibrant music and dance, taste authentic local cuisines prepared the traditional way, and explore homesteads that showcase Uganda’s diverse cultural heritage. Day 5: Drive to Fort Portal – Bigodi Community visit

After breakfast take a scenic drive to Fort Portal, Uganda’s tourism city renowned for its lush landscapes and breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, enjoy a hearty lunch in the charming town, sampling both local and international dishes.
In the afternoon, venture into the Bigodi Community, where you will interact with local people, experience traditional lifestyles, and explore the surrounding wetlands rich in birds, primates, and vibrant village culture, making it a truly enriching and memorable visit.

Day 6: Tooro Kings Palace – Crater Lakes Drive – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Begin your journey with a visit to the majestic Tooro King’s Palace, a symbol of history and tradition that offers fascinating insights into the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage. Continue with a scenic crater lakes drive, winding through rolling hills, tea plantations, and sparkling volcanic lakes that create some of Uganda’s most picturesque landscapes.
Later, embark on a memorable drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations, where adventure and breathtaking encounters with nature await.

Day 7: Game Drive – Kazinga Boat Cruise – Kasoga Community Visit

After breakfast, set out on an exhilarating game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, where lions, elephants, buffalo, and countless antelope roam freely across the savannah. In the afternoon, relax on a breathtaking boat cruise along the KazingaChannel, a haven for hippos, crocodiles, and an incredible variety of birdlife gathered along the water’s edge.
Conclude the day with a memorable visit to the Kasoga Community, where you will engage with local people, experience authentic cultural traditions, and gain a deeper appreciation of life along the shores of Lake George

Day 8: Drive to Mbarara – Eclipse Monument – Igongo Cultural Museum

After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Mbarara, the land of milk and honey, and make a stop at the historic Eclipse Monument, a site that commemorates the famous solar eclipse witnessed by early explorers. Continue to the Igongo Cultural Museum, where Uganda’s rich Ankole heritage comes to life through art, history, and cultural displays.
Later, proceed to Lake Mburo National Park, a hidden gem filled with rolling savannah, zebras, antelopes, and rich birdlife, offering the perfect blend of culture, history, and wildlife adventure.

Day 9: Short Game Drive – Nature walk – CTC Conservation Center (optional) – Entebbe

Begin the day with a refreshing nature walk in Lake Mburo National Park, where you can enjoy the park’s unique landscapes up close and spot wildlife on foot. Follow this with a short game drive, giving you another chance to encounter zebras, giraffes, impalas, and other savannah species.
Continue the journey with a stop at the CTC Conservation Center, a community-based project dedicated to protecting wildlife and supporting local livelihoods. On your way back, pause at the iconic Kayabwe Equator Point for unforgettable photos and a chance to stand on both sides of the world, before completing your trip in Entebbe.
